During a month, from mid-December 2023 to mid-January 2024, emino and François kept a diary and shared it with each other almost every day. While travelling in Japan, emino wrote daily notes and, sometimes, took photographs on her smartphone. Meanwhile, François painted daily impressions of his everyday life in Edinburgh with watercolour he had bought in Tokyo a year before.
